Here are some local happenings for the holidays – it’s a great time to get out and see what the Charlotte area has to offer during this beautiful time of year.
Holiday concert by the Matthews Concert Band:
- When: 7:30pm December 15
- Where: Matthews Community Center
- 100 McDowell St. Matthews
- Admission: Free
Christmas at the Billy Graham Library: Carriage rides (minimal cost), lights, live Nativity scene, carolers, holiday music and lots of decorations.
- When: 5:00pm – 10:00pm now through December 23
- Where: Billy Graham Library
- 4330 Westmont Drive, Charlotte
- Admission: Free
Gingerbread Lane: Gingerbread house collections; attendees may even vote for their favorite house – $1.00 minimum donation.
- When: 9:00am, open daily to the public though December 26
- Where: Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge
- 10000 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy., Charlotte
- Admission: Free
Holiday Lights at the Garden: “A Vintage Christmas” theme, lots of lights, carriage rides, live entertainment, and a Christmas tree made of orchids.
- When: now thru December 31, Sunday – Thursday, 5:00pm – 9:00pm; Friday – Saturday, 5:00pm – 10:00pm.
- Where: Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden
- 6500 S. New Hope Rd., Belmont
- Admission: $12.00 Adults; $11.00 Seniors 60+; $6.00 children 4-12
